PAATHIKA TO PAARA

Paathika = a quarter
Paadam = a foot .it is also the name of one of the sanskrit divisions of time
Paada rasam = quick-silver
Paanakam = juice expressed from the sugar cane ..paanakam is also a cooling drink of the indians ,made of sugar diluted in water and mixed up with spices
Paapata = the parting of the hair ,paapata thiyyadam = to part the hair..,paapata bottu = the name of a gold ornament worn by women ,on the right side of the head..,paapata cheru or bindeelu = other ornaments of the same kind ,worn on and about the parting of the hair ,on the front of the head..
Paapatam = the indian harrow or drag ,the teeth of which are of wood fixed on one rim or arm ,with a pole to it ,to which the oxen are yoked to drag it along . the teeth are three or five in number ,and they make the furrows at the same time in which the seed is sown...,paapatam tholadam = to harrow or use the drag.
Paapam , dosham = a sin ..and often used to express pity ..
Paamadam ,raayadam = to rub ,applied to every thing
Paamu = a snake ..,paamu mani = the snake - stone.
Paamkodu = the name given to a sort of wooden shoes or patterns , used by the indians within doors and particularly when washing .they are made flat on the surface ,with a knob fixed so as to come between the great toe and the next toe and are raised about two inches from the ground..
Praathamikam = primary..,praathamikangaa = primarily..,,praathamika pareeksha = preliminary test
Praanam = life , the soul...,praana snehithudu = an intimate friend ..
Praarthana = a prayer
Praarthinchadam = to pray
Paara = the telugu name for what is commonly called mommety by europeans ,used by the indians to dig with..
