Pusthakam పుస్తకం = this is the name given to the leaves of the palmyra tree , on which the sanskrit or old telugu writings are written and preserved. these leaves are about two inches broad and about two feet long,written on both sides of the leaf ,with an iron instrument called a guntum గంటం in telugu and resembling the description given of the style with which the ancients wrote on the papyrus.. a collection of these leaves , containing some history or poem complete , is called postakam పొస్తకం or pusthakam పుస్తకం..,a book
